Therefore your MP3 player needs to be able to do that rather than just return to the beginning of the file which can be extremely frustrating. Not all MP3 players can do this so you should check to see whether the one you are buying can or not. First stop and resume, then stop, switch off before switching on and resuming play. Also try replacing batteries.
