Apart from the fact that the digital revolution is forcing people to buy new televisions, the technology behind LCD televisions is reason enough to invest in one.

Inside the screen of your LCD TV, each pixel is made a by a tiny cell that that contains liquid crystals. This tends to make the picture that you see on the screen clearer than you would experience on a cathode ray tube TV. This technology of using liquid crystals is essentially the same as what you see in a digital watch; however it is much more sophisticated when used to view large scale moving images like those you find on a television.

The LCD experience means that your picture is lit by several backlights, enhancing the brightness and vividness of the display. This is a real plus when compared to CRT TVs, which tend to fade as regards brightness over time. The backlights in the average LCD television are good for up to 50,000 hours of operation.

There are some issues as regards the viewing angle that you utilise when watching an LCD TV. The best way to view and LCD is straight on. This will give you the maximum viewing experience. If you view too far to either side, you can find yourself viewing a faded picture. Check your instructions for details on how to deal with this.
LCD TVs are the future, simply because they provide a more vivid, more exciting viewing experience.
