TV network, ABC is cock-a-hoop after it was revealed they dominating online TV prime Time. Having nine out of the top 10 online TV streaming shows for February, according to Nielsen ratings group .
The shows were ranked by Nielsen’s February VideoCensus report, which tracks the online tv audience figures.
Hit TV show ‘Lost’ was the top viewed show having 2.5 million unique viewers on the internet comprising a jaw dropping 48 million streams. Up 41% on the previous month.
Next came twinkle toed stars on ‘Dancing with the Stars’, ‘Greys Anatomy’, ‘The Bachelor’, ‘Brothers & Sisters’, ‘Scrubs’, ‘Extreme Makeover’, ‘Desperate Housewives’ and ‘Private Practice’
However NBC managed to sneak in with ‘Saturday Night Live’ which came in at eighth for the number of online viewers in February. This was however the only non ABC show in the top 10.

The daddy of catch up tv websites Hulu, celebrates 17 months on the web by getting socially networked.
Hulu has launched a new feature. Impressively called ‘Hulu Friends’ that brings elements of social networking to the internet tv website. Viewers are now able to chat to friends from Myspace, Facebook and invite contacts from Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo email accounts to join you in viewing the latest shows online. Viewers can also share videos and leave comments using a newsfeed similar to Facebook. Hulu Friends can announce what they have viewed or are viewing.

The new social network features are similar to existing tv websites like Boxee and TV.com who already have these social features integrated within their websites.
Hulu which has managed to become the second most popular streaming TV website on the web, supplying around 309 million streams and 9.4 million unique visitors. YouTube boasted more than sixteen times that amount, around 5.1 billion streams and 88 million unique visitors.
Whilst it may be getting boring to many having social networking everywhere you go, it is an effective way to connect customers with a given product. And social networking works very well with watching TV and movies.

Game Console Manufacturer Sony may have a larger network of online users compared to Xbox. But in the Game Console TV arena it’s way behind. Is that about to change?

Although Sony boast that its PlayStation Network comprises over 20 million registered users (compared with Xbox Live at 17 million). Due to the Netflix deal Xbox Live is streets ahead with internet TV boasting over 30,000 TV episodes and movies for users to watch.
However Sony are hitting back. It announced today a major deal with NBC Universal, allowing PS Network users to watch the latest TV shows and movies online. But for a cost.
To rent a viewing, users will need to cough up between $2.99 – $5.99, whilst purchasing will cost around $9.99 – $14.99. TV shows will be made available to view the day after they air on TV.
This new deal follows news that Sony added shows from across MTV Networks channels, including MTV, Spike and Nickelodeon. Sony says the PlayStation Network now offers over 1,300 movies and more than 4,500 TV episodes, with episodes available in both standard definition and High Definition(HD). An advantage that Playstation has over Xbox is that the movies are portable if your using the PSP.
