The Star Trek Online open beta is about to come to a close and Cryptic Studios plans to end things with a bang. Starting today (Tuesday) at 2pm PST a Klingon invasion fleet will form up near Qo'noS. Klingons wishing to join the invasion fleet can rendezvous there. The fleet will be headed for an undisclosed Federation territory, so Starfleet ships, be ready.

This little event apparently isn't the only thing Crypic has up their sleeves. When someone on the forums mentioned some people might be gone before the event, Stormshade, Cryptic's Online Community Rep., keeping true to Cryptic's name responded with this rather cryptic statement.

Not to be outdone by their fast food competitors when it comes to exclusive media tie-ins, Del Taco is now offering an Star trek Online trial, a collectible cup, and an exclusive in-game Type-8 Starfleet Shuttlecraft Pet for theaion kinah price of a Macho Combo Meal or a drink. The shuttle has limited shields and no weapons, but for those players anxious to get every Star Trek item they can get their hands on, it may be time to head to Del Taco now.
