The Zodiac signs are a type of belief for people regarding the prediction of fortunes by the study of stars. Astrologers are the persons who do predictions by studying the movements of stars and other space objects. This is a science that had existed for several thousands of years back.

Before the settlement of humans, memorizing the positions of stars, sun, moon and other space objects was the only way of doing predictions. The outer space objects are usually known as stars, comets and planets and the studies of the ancient observations must not be discredited because they were the ones behind the calculations and calendars that are used today for tracking the movements of celestial objects.

Greeks gave a lot of importance to a person’ day of birth because with the new constellations it was possible to determine the strengths of the person at birth and perhaps prepare their parents also. It was hoped that the individual would counter the challenges ahead by knowing which god or hero would be their protector. They also believed that that every major event could be predicted through knowledge of horoscopes.

The Greek astrologers, Mesopotamian priests, Ancient Egyptians, Romans, Assyrian people and Indian astronomers had all contributed to the study of astrology. In fact, Greeks are known as the real people behind the science of astrology and modern astrology has been mostly derived from the writings of Greek astronomer and mathematician named Ptolemy.

The zodiac signs like Aries, Capricorn, Leo etc are all origin of Greeks. On studying the contribution of Greeks in astrology, it can be said that the Greek zodiac signs must have their origins in the ancient oral history of humanity a long time before the invention of writing.

Gemini is a special zodiac sign for the Greeks. It is the third sign of zodiac year in astrology and is considered the child of the zodiacal year in the astrological world of the zodiac because being a sign with two personalities. People who are born between May 21st and June 21st are affected by Gemini sign. Gemini people are humorous and quickly alternating from one course to the next without thinking too much.

However, the Gemini sign is limited to the northern hemisphere with almost all ancient civilizations from Asia, Europe, North Africa and North America. This gives special significance to the rising of the twin stars during spring.

The Gemini sign originated from the story of two twin brothers named Castor and Polydeuces. They were also known as Pollux. Despite this story as Roman people know, it is not in fact directly related to the two brothers. The story is directed to the stars which had the name of the two boys. They were the first to rise at dawn but most importantly they were the two stars to only rise in spring. It can be said that the Gemini sign is mostly special because of its association with rebirth and spring.
