An apple is a sweet fruit with a round shape while a strawberry is a delicious red colored sweet fruit widely appreciated mainly for its characteristic aroma. Both fruits are popular and most favored fruit in the world. They are both used in jams and marmalades and are richly nutritious.

Apple is famous for a famous saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” and is enjoyed by every young and old. In old times apple was known as a wonder fruit. Apple is Asian by origin while strawberries are grown in America, Europe and Asia but many varieties have also been successfully grown in Australasia and Africa.

The history of Apple dates back 10,000 years ago. In ancient times, apples were the best fruit with sweetest taste and juiciest flesh which could only be afforded by royalty and their court in some parts of the ancient world. Apples were also popular for dessert from the time as long ago as 4,500 years back. Strawberries were one of the native fruits of Italian peninsula.

The history of strawberries also dates back to the medieval times. At that time, some believed that strawberries were contaminated and should not be eaten by humans as they could poison the body leading to eventual death but it was found not to be true.

The Chinese used strawberries as a traditional medicine for the most of the 26th century. The leaves of the strawberry plant were used to make a weak tea that was thought to detoxify the body and aid in reducing the effects of aging. During the 15th century, apples were considered to be not just a fruit for eating but also a medicinal fruit capable of helping cure many numbers of diseases.

Apple was once known as a spiritual fruit which was capable of providing eternal life to those who inhale its fragrance as they pass from the world of the living into heaven. A Greek philosopher ‘Aristotle’ was said to have smelled an apple’s aroma only moments before his death and the apple is credited with releasing his soul. Another popular legend in Islamic history tells that the Prophet Mohammed was himself offered an apple by an angel and was told that if he inhaled the aroma of the apple he would be assured of eternal life in paradise, moments later the prophet breathed his last breath.

Apple tree was since the start of civilization although it is not known when strawberries were first eaten by humans. Both apples and strawberries are not very difficult to grow. Apple trees can only be grown in farms but strawberries can be grown as a potted plant and will still produce fruit. Farming of both fruits are common around the world.

Apple and strawberry flavored beauty products have become popular during the late 20th century. This led to a significant increase in its cultivation especially strawberries. They come in many products such as shampoos, facial cleansers, soaps and moisturizers requiring high quantities of strawberries in direct comparison with the number used for desserts.

Both fruits are used for extracting juice but apple juice is more delicious than strawberry and most of the juice companies sell apple juice in abundance.
