Don't you just love decorating and re-decorating your home? There are just about a lot of things to do but the most important one is creating that homey atmosphere. The main purpose of window shades that you need to think about purchasing is bring in sunlight where it needs it and shut places that do not need to be all bright.

If you are just constructing your home, you can tell your contactor, architect and interior designer what you really want. Well, customers are always right so if they could fit that in your budget, the better. You see, you also have to look at the best part of your would be home. Let your family's personality show.

Your window view can be the focal point of your living room so here are your possible choices for your window shades:

a) Jalousie
Your place of residence can also dictate the type of window shades to use like if you are from Miami which is a little tropical, sunny and windy place where the sun seems to be always in the equation, a Louvered or Jalousie window could work. When you do not want to invite that much glare into your rooms, you better opt to choose roller shades.

Jalousies are like Venetian Blinds that allow you to get complete darkness in a room. What you can do is just open them to let the breeze in but install some roller shades that have a hint of coverage just to diffuse the sunlight in different places.

b) Panoramic
This is the most romantic window type if you live by the sea or on top of a hill that has this magnificent view of the bay. Such a scenic view can also have its disadvantage. It may be so beautiful at night when all the lights are open but during the day? Heat is all you could feel. The choice of window shades should be carefully considered. Don't go with all those heavy drapes since that's so last season. What you can choose are these roller shades that give you the right protection against the heat but does not hamper the beautiful view.

Did you know that when you install roller shades at a large window you create sexy hues? They are made of see-through fabric. This way, you get to block out some glare but not the view.

c) Casement
Even your bathrooms need some window shades. That is the place where you need privacy but you do not just board the walls and have no windows. The usual type of windows for bathrooms is called Casement. This is what you also find in condominiums as well as apartments. You open it through a crank and you push the window out.

It's a common look which can spoil the character of your bathroom. You should use roller shades since it can add the desired coverage from the hot sun as well as hide yourself from public. This can be very handy when you need a little privacy with a special someone.
