Also, matching their rate of speech is a great way to establish rapport as well. If they speak slow, so do you. If they speak fast and their tonality is all over the place, you do the same.

The fear of getting caught is pretty natural when you start doing this, but nobody will ever catch you. Once you develop rapport, and you've chit chatted about various things, then you can start with your sales presentation. Give it about five minutes or so to really sink it. You'll find that this will give a great advantage over the old way of doing things.

Of course, the longer you take to develop rapport, the stronger it will be. If you want to have some fun, go to a coffee shop and you can quickly see who's getting along, and who isn't. The couples that are mismatches from a body language standpoint aren't, and the people that are matching are. You can create this feeling of trust at will, and use it to increase your sales, increase your income, and promote your business.
