A Guide to Hair Extensions - By: Shyxter Tagapulot

Hair extensions are oftentimes recognized as man-made hair integrations. It is a process of adding simulated hair to your natural hair. Does it sound rather like a recent innovation? But contrary to what many individuals believe, these extensions have been here as early as the olden Egypt. Egyptians, both boys and girls, use extensions as creative adornment.

Various folks have diverse rationales for wearing hair extensions. The commonest reason is style! No questions asked; who wouldn't yearn to have gorgeous hair? Folks opt to use hair extensions when they wish to add volume, a segment, or style to their tresses without the chance of hurting their real locks with chemicals. The chance of improving and fashioning one's hair with no need to wait long or visit the salon more frequently is so encouraging. But aside from styling, girls wear them to mask balding areas of the head.

Hair extensions are made of 2 different materials; synthetic fibers and human hair. There are significant distinctions among these 2 and pinning down your haircut needs will provide assistance in choosing which type of extension suits you best.

Synthetic extensions are made from nylon material, polyester, Kankalon or Modacrylic. From the title itself, this is a synthesized hair manufactured by man. It is far cheaper than real human hair but less fashioning can be done to it since man-made hair cannot resist temperature extremes that happen with styling.

On the other hand, extensions that are made of human hair are better but costlier than the synthetic type. What's excellent with human hair extensions, apart from the undeniable fact that it is made from authentic human hair, is you can treat it the way you do with your natural hair. You could style it more than you can with synthetic extensions and do other customs that you generally perform with your natural hair like washing, blow-drying, and ironing. There are a variety of methods in applying hair extensions. It would depend on what kind of hair extension is employed. The most common techniques are the following:

Weaving: The extensions are weaved or platted to your hair. It is performed in a salon where the hair expert splits your hair and joins the extensions to the hair strands close to the scalp. It's the most ideal method because there are no harmful elements used but you are required to have the weaves tightened regularly.

Fusion bonding: This method could either be hot, cold, or link and lock fusion. Hot fusion bonding uses glue and heat in attaching extensions to the hair. Cold fusion bonding is more delicate; it uses keratin-based polymer in attaching extensions to the roots of your hair. The link and lock methodology uses a special ring that is tightened around your hair and the extension to connect them together.

Clip-on: This is the easiest method to connect/remove extensions and the cheapest as well. You don't have to go to the salon and have a stylist get the job done. You can do it yourself by clipping the extensions as close to your scalp and removing it is as easy as attaching it.

Hair extensions are one of the most glorious innovations in the world of hair styling. It's been extremely helpful to many in recovering their poise and self-worth simply by enhancing their crowning glory.
