Besides all of the other holidays and activities, Winter is a fantastic time of year to spend with family and friends, and this time of year also ushers in a variety of sports that will keep you busy throughout the cold months, and get your blood pumping to keep you warm. Even though Baseball, America's favorite pastime, is all finished for the year, there are still many other major league sports out there to get you entertained until its return next Spring, with the end of the NBA lockout and fantasy leagues, the time will fly right by.

Football season is well underway, and the NFL is in the process of gearing up for the playoffs, where some teams will continue on through, while others will be left in the dust, sitting on the sidelines until next summer. Your will be packed gridiron excitement as you support your favorite teams and hope they can perform and make it all the way to victory with games running all the way to the end of the year, and the Super Bowl coming up in February.

Basketball fans everywhere will finally be able to get their fill before the year ends because the NBA lockout has also come to a close, and the regular season is scheduled to kick off around Christmas, and finally get a chance to watch their favorite teams square off after waiting an extra two months for negotiations to come to a close. The grandstands will likely be filled when the season finally kicks off, with millions of fans filling into stadiums across the nation to be there for their teams, and make up for lost time.

The hockey season is also presently going strong, and being the predominant Winter sport, is consistently sure to usher in more spectators, nostalgic for this portion of year, ready for a high octane, thrilling sport to take the stage and entertain them with one of the most physical major league team sports out there today.

Keeping people's minds off of the frigid weather, and giving them something to be looking forward to with some extra time away from work for the holidays, and a reason for individuals to come together and join in their excitement, showing support for all of their favorite players and rallying behind them for the run of the season, the bleachers fill with excited spectators for every one of these sports.
