One of the really popular types of white tea is the silver needle tea. This tea is produced in Fujian Province in China, specifically in the Zhenhe and Fuding districts.

Drinking a silver needle tea takes you to the valleys and plains where it was originally picked. White tea comes in different grades which further exemplifies the special manner by which it is produced. The really popular and sought after grade is the Sublime Needle or Bai Hao which is considered as a special grade. It is not only the grade that affects the prestige of a white tea in every cup. It is also the leaves used to make the tea. You can find Narcissus, Large Whites, and Small Whites.

The leaves used in the production of silver needle tea that is such a delight to drink do not undergo further processing such as pan-firing or steaming. They are just allowed to wither naturally. This results to thinner and smaller leaves.

During 1884 however, they began choosing varieties of tea bushes where they would be getting the leaves to make into organic white tea. Since then, several varieties came about. For instance, the White Peony came to life in 1922. More tea lovers became attracted and hooked to the different kinds of white tea, and drinking it has become one of their everyday routines.

Drinking silver needle tea does not only create that relaxing effect. In fact, like in all teas, you can always get the health benefits provided by each cup of tea.
