Play a television family game. Have a prepared list of old and newer TV shows that feature a family. Appoint a person to read each family name out loud. The players are to write the names of the children for each named family. The player who names the most child characters will be the prizewinner.

The expectant couple will be in deep doo for the next year. You might as well make fun of it now. Set up a poo pong game. Put six disposable diapers together as if they were on a baby. Tape them together into a triangular shape. To simulate the poo, use a thin sock, brown in color, of course, and fill it with rice. Tie the sock closed. The object is to get the poo into as many diapers as one can in the course of a set time.

Another diaper game is to diaper a baby doll while the participant is blindfolded. Put the guests into equal numbered teams. In the center of the room have diapered dolls ready. The first person goes to the center, puts on the blindfold and has to remove the diaper and put on a new one. When finished they hand the blindfold to the next person. The group that finishes first are the winners.

A game that can show how truly crazy life can get with a newborn is the multi-tasking game. Take a rope about five to six feet long. String it up like a clothesline. The game player will be given a doll, a hamper of clothes with clips, and a phone. While holding the baby the guest must talk on the phone, keep the baby held, and hang the clothing on the rope. If there is a winner it is the person who did not lose the baby, stop talking, and had the most items hanging from the rope.

Coed baby showers are more popular and can offer the opportunity to add new twists on old games. Diaper poker can be easily set up. All that is needed are decks of cards and diapers as tokens. Each diaper has the same value. Then play a few rounds to see who the winner is. The game winner gets a prize and the diapers go to the parents-to-be.
