5 tips for cleaning your Hot Tub/Jacuzzi: - By: CGCS

1. Purge your Spa: Prior to draining any existing water from your hot tub, place a spa purge agent into your hot tub to clean out bacteria from the plumbing lines. You can find these online or a store such as Home Depot.

2. Drain the hot tub: Drain the water from your hot tub; remembering to turn off the power first!

3. Clean the surface of your spa: You will need to pay special attention to the water lines where sticky build-up can occur; Also do not forget to wipe down the pillows as well. It is suggested cleaning the inside of your hot tub with a solution that does not create suds and is not abrasive. Use this solution with a soft rag. For hard-to-clean stains, try a surface cleaner made specifically for spas (again, you can find these online or at Home Depot). After cleaning, rinse out the hot tub througly to get rid of any cleaning solution residue.

4. Clean and Protect the Hot Tub Cover: Take notice of any rips or tears in the vinyl of your hot tub cover; these tears can cause loss of heat to your hot tub. Protect your cover with a vinyl protector.

5. Clean the exterior cabinets: Wipe down your cabinet with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser.

That’s it. Regular cleaning service and maintenance on your hot tub will ensure a long lasting life and deter bacteria growth

1- Always hire a service that is fully licensed, bonded, and insured and is able to provide you with a current certificate of insurance. An individual may be able to clean your home slightly cheaper then a professional company, but will he or she be able to replace the $5000 vase they broke cleaning your home?

2- Ask for references. Ask the cleaning service for references for the particular cleaner they plan to send to your home. Any reputable service will be able to do this as no one wants an inexperienced or poorly trained cleaner to clean their home.

3- Read Reviews. Read Reviews of what others have said who have had their home or office cleaned by the company. A great place to do this is google places (http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=10190679028105888571&hl=en is our review page) or yellow pages.com. There may always be a bad review written by a disgruntled former employee or the like mixed in, but an established company will have multiple reviews over time that allow you to establish an overall picture of the company.

4- Old-fashioned references. If a client likes your cleaning service enough to refer you to their friend, there is no better testament to the company!
