Ironically, the same device that helps people stay plugged-in to the world around them can also be great for helping them to decompress as well. In fact, for those interested in healing, relaxation and meditation, the iPhone has some great apps to help with this. Here are 5 apps to try:

Meditation by Red Hammer Software
This app features over 70 different sounds to meditate to and can be customized to the user’s needs. Users can choose from chants and nature sounds like rain, insect noises, birds and wind. Additional sound choices include instruments, like wind chimes and flutes, as well as music soundtracks.

YOGA Free: 250 Poses & Classes by ARAWELLA Corp.
This app features 250 different yoga poses with complete instructions. It also includes both photos and videos as well as a voice guide. Users can design their own program and choose their own music for the background.

Healing Cards by Caroline Myss and Peter Occhiogrosso
This app features 50 illustrated cards with healing words of wisdom on the front and encouraging practical guidance for applying the wisdom on the back. The writings are taken from many different philosophies such as Christianity, New Age, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism and Native American teachings.
