This may not be possible to correct later as these students can be affected forever. One way to reduce or remove the shyness of these students is to force them to work in a group of other students. That can help them to get over their fear of dealing with other people. Even though they are forced to do it, against their will, it will be the best thing in the interest of such students.

Less important in the educational process are esteem and self-actualization. At these levels, a point is reached where education is no longer harmed by a lack of focus. A student may be lacking in self-esteem, but they are still able to use their energy in their own educational process. Students with low esteem can get a boost from education. These gains might even help them progress to the next level.

Of course, not every student will reach the top of Maslow's pyramid, but encouraging and supporting all students on their way can give them that extra boost to strive for the next level. Maslow says that everyone marches to his own drummer, and a good educator can help each student as he or she tries to do just that.
