You might have felt acid reflux many times after taking your lunch or dinner, especially after heavy lunch or dinner. This is because the acid present in stomach gets disturbed by the acid present in the food. It is not a serious issue. Hereunder, are given few tips to avoid acid reflux in future.

Avoid Fast Foods

If you are having acid reflux problem, then avoid fast food items. They are highly spicy and acidic in most cases and can further worsen the situation for you. However, it is easy to go with fast food but it is not a healthy activity all the time. Give yourself a break and avoid them as far as possible or at least go for grilled one if it is inevitable.

Fruits and Vegetables

Although fruits and vegetables are good for health but you have you have to be careful in their usage with having acid reflux problem. There are certain fruits and vegetables that are rich in acidic substance. In vegetables, you need to avoid potatoes and onion as much as possible. Don’t eat French fries and mashed potatoes. In fruits, there are orange, lemon, cranberries, tomatoes, and grapefruit etc which have high acid content. Avoid them in time of acid reflux.

Dairy products

Some diary products are also bad for people having acid reflux problem, especially products with milk as a major ingredient like ice cream, butter, cream etc. if you are having acid reflux problem stop consuming these products. If you consume any other milk product and feel the signs of acid reflux, stop taking that product too.

Beverages

Drinks should be avoided in acid reflux problem. Alcohol, wine or any sort of liquor must be avoided because they might intensify the problem for you. Drinking is not recommended at any cost in acid reflux situations. It not only intensifies the acid reflux problem but can also cause new problems and harm to your body.

Beverages like coffee and tea can also deteriorate the problem for you. Don’t take coffee or tea with empty stomach. Tea and coffee can cause acid reflux in one too many ways. Remember tea and coffee is not good for your body if taking in excessively.

Desserts

Deserts should also be avoided in acid reflux situations. Chocolates and sweets, brownies, dessert with butter are extremely unhealthy food in case of acid reflux. Desserts usually worsen the acid reflux situation. Besides these, doughnuts, corn chips, potato chips are all need to be avoided.

Refraining form these things will prevent acid reflux to a large extent.
