4 Things You Should Know About CCCS Before Signing Up - By: J.J. Yong

All of us lead busy lives today that we often let our finances slip by and not realize it until it's too late. If you find that you can't solve your financial issues on your own and need some help, get something professional and look up a consumer creditor counseling service.

It's a debt elimination service that has helped many survive their difficult financial times. A few things you should know before sealing the deal is that there are CCCS companies that are non profit and for profit, but they both have service charges. For the non-profit, there are a handful that provides free counseling sessions but most of them either come with a fee or ask for a donation which usually adds up to your debt.

Aside from that, some companies may have credit counselors that aren't certified. It's your right to get the best service, so always ask and find out if there are certified. If you go with a non-profit company; you may be limited to choices but don't doubt the agents experience as they would be fit to help solve your problems the best they can.

Furthermore, as most of us would opt for non-profit organizers, look for them in colleges and universities, at your local credit unions, on military bases or installations or through your local community resources hotline. Try getting a hold of good ones and avoid going for-profit companies. They may be able to help you more, but they would have high service fees that may not be too obvious. So if you go for this, always read the contract carefully.

If you find it difficult to find a non-profit CCCS company, get in touch with your bank or lending institution and ask for a recommendation. They'd be able to direct you to respectable companies in which they keep ties with. Also, you could get details from your local Chamber of Commerce or from the state Better Business Bureau.

To put it in a nutshell, try solving your credit debts on your own, when you feel the need to get help, always do sufficient research on the different companies and then pick the best CCCS company available and let them help you.
