To develop a flat stomach is easy to do if you know how.

A great idea you may not know is to work larger body parts through resistance training and this has an indirect effect on your stomach muscles.

Let me explain what I mean by working the stomach area indirectly.

With each routine, you have large muscles and also you smaller supporting muscles too.

For example, when you do a push up, you are working your chest Pecs.

This has a knock on effect as you shoulders and triceps are being worked too.

Your stomach area is a supporting muscle while doing many different types of exercises.

Doing these exercises means that you're flattening your belly at the same time that you're working other body parts. And it is more beneficial to do these than your usual stomach exercises.

Here are 3 types of exercises that will help to tone your belly.

Pull ups exercise. Try this one as it is a quality routine for what you require.

This basically works your back muscles.

The knock on effect is that you feel your stomach tightening while doing it. This is because your abs is stretched.

Imagine doing 50 sit ups, doing this exercise you only need to between 5 and 10 for the same effect.

If you’re wondering, women can also do this exercise.

Push ups. Keep your abs tightened when you do this exercise.

This way, your abs will be worked hard.

You abs will get a good workout what ever push up you decide to do.

Push ups work your entire upper body and they're a great exercise to flatten your belly.

Pull downs. This is performed by pull down on a cable, pulley or whatever system you use, but gives the same effect as a push up.

When you are pulling down the cable, resistance bar etc. make sure you pull down to your waist area. This is so you get a good workout.

This again works your abs as the stomach region is supporting this exercise.

If you try these 3 exercises and give them a go you will start to see a great body posture and also great abs too.
