1. The first thing we want to talk about is doing two-tier affiliate programs. With a 2 tier affiliate program, you get paid on all of your sales as well as the sales from affiliates that you personally recruit.

This adds a nice twist to affiliate marketing, because it gives you options to earn more affiliate commissions beyond just your personal sales. If you like working with people and helping them recruit affiliates, then this will work really well for you.

Social networking is extremely popular on the Internet today and two tier affiliate programs tie in very nicely with this. Because affiliate programs are free to join, it's very easy to recruit new affiliates into the program you are promoting.

The hard part is getting them to the point where they can actually make sales. One advantage you will have if you are successful as an affiliate marketer is you can put together a program that is designed to duplicate your efforts.

If you really want to increase your affiliate commissions you certainly want to sell more personally, but putting together a large team of affiliate sales reps is a great way to explode your income also.

If you have products of your own that you are creating, having a team of affiliates in place makes it easy to quickly get that product in the marketplace. Therefore as you are recruiting people into a two-tier affiliate program, you should be also building a training program on the side that includes getting their name and e-mail addresses and constantly keeping in touch with them.
