View the golf shoes for sale these days and observe how design has evolved - By: callumwill3564

There has never been a better time to play golf. Advancements in technology, access to more courses and the wide availability of cheap golf equipment make it so. One area still forging ahead is that of golf shoes. You only have to look at the golf shoes for sale today to confirm the situation.

If you go back 40 or 50 years you would have been disappointed by the choice of golf shoe available in your local golf shop. Choice was limited and came down usually to a couple of designs; one shoe produced from very heavy, unwieldy, leather, and one produced from an unattractive rubbery type material. The latter types were designed for playing in the wet although in practice your feet still got wet as the designers of the day failed to construct any form of ventilation. Makes you wonder how golfers managed to get around the course without getting large blisters. Maybe they were hardier types back then!

Golfers of today are absolutely spoilt when it comes to the choice of golf shoe. Gone are the bad old days. The biggest problem we are now confronted with is which kind of shoe to buy.

Until just recently the golf shoe looked very much the same as it always had. This is what manufacturers refer to as the classic style. However, matters quickly changed when players like Fred Couples, the professional golfer from the USA, starting wearing golf shoes which had been developed in the form of a sport trainer. Commentators were aghast a professional player would arrive at a tournament wearing what were commonly referred to by traditionalists as carpet slippers. What they didn’t realise until later was the point that the shoes worn by Fred were, indeed, golf shoes which had been made for the sole aim of golf though with a view to providing greater comfort along with a better look from the fashion aspect.

Modern-day golfers are fully fashion aware therefore, the new style golf trainer became an immediate success and opened the floodgates relative to golf shoe design. Seems that golf designers, who had been previously fearful of the traditionalist golf lobby, could actually throw off the design shackles, and to start thinking creatively with regards to a subject which had been taboo for way too long.

Visit any golf shop or online golf store today and you'll be surprised by the sheer number of golf shoes for sale. Classic styles, golf trainers and also golf boots for the wet and muddy winter days can easily be bought. And as for colours the selection is pretty staggering. Every colour with the rainbow, and mixtures of colours never previously seen, are all available. Professional golfers have been quick to take up the mantle as a way to jazz up the sport as well as decrease the perceived stuffiness which still stalks the game. Amateur players of every level are slowly changing and the brightly coloured trainer type shoe is now being seen a lot more. With that said, it's going to still be a brave golfer who appears at his club on medal day wearing bright orange golf shoes such as ones worn by Ricky Fowler. Nonetheless it will only be a matter of time!
