The Arya Samaj is a voluntary organization working across the world for physical, moral, spiritual and professional education, eradication of superstition, inculcation of universal values, comparative study of cultures, religious and social systems, with open enquiry and debate for the propagation of truth. The organization is thoroughly democratic and works on the basis of the ten principles formulated by the founder. Indian society it holds a sanctimonious place. It is even more important in the lives of Indian people. Different parts of India follow different rituals and customs.
The main aim of our organization (Arya Samaj Mandir in Ghaziabad) is to "Awaken The World with Vedic Light" with the ultimate goal of "Krinvanto Vishvam Aryam - Make the World noble". This site shows you the activities and events of the Organization and its affiliates. It is our Endeavour to grow this site to include information and resources pertaining to the Vedas and the Arya Samaj Mandir movement so that we can continue the good work of the great Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Ji and help in making the world noble.
Marriage is an important event in any body's life. In Indian society it holds a sanctimonious place. It is even more important in the lives of Indian people. Different parts of India follow different rituals and customs. But every Indian marriage is quite elaborate process and reflects its regional culture. Indian marriages are very much different from the western weddings. Indian marriages are full of vigour, colours and ceremonial functions. There are a literally scores of ways in which a Arya Samaj Mandir Ghaziabad marriage ceremony can be performed, though usually the religion/caste of the bridegroom (and sometimes the bride), decides the kind of ceremony and the nature of rites.
Procedure of marriage in our Arya Samaj Mandir is very easy, simple, and hassle free. You just need to furnish age certificate, residence proof, a few photographs and witnesses. It takes hardly 1-2 hours to solemnize the marriage. We make all arrangements like photography, video recording, bridal make ups, feast etc to make you stress-free. One of the basic rules of the Arya Samaj is that it conducts marriages only for Hindus, since the movement's founder Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati sincerely believed Hinduism to be the 'original' religion and that conversions accounted for the spread of other religions from Hinduism. If in case a couple belonging to religions other than Hinduism want to get married under the auspices of Arya Samaj, they first have to be converted, through a process called "shuddhi", meaning purification.'
Fire and the other elements are the only witnesses to the ceremony. Simplicity is the hallmark of Arya Samaj marriage. The rituals performed are the ones prescribed by the Vedas and the mantras are translated into the / Hindi / English so that the couple know what the meaning of their marriage vows. Unfortunately, except a half-closed door and few almost forlorn keepers there is hardly any presence of real spiritual life. No more lectures or any discussions about Dyanand Saraswati or 'Satayarth Prakash'.
The Arya Samaj was undoubtedly the most dynamic socio-religious reform movement modem society has ever seen.
