There is no doubt that heart is the main organ in our body which supplies blood to the whole body. So it is important that we must care about its healthy. Proper diet will help you maintain good body weight thus provide better care to your heart.

One of the main things to care on your diet is avoid the oily foods. Because oily food will increase your cholesterol level which will cause the break down of heart. When cholesterol level increases the valve in the heart will be blocked by the cholesterol particle and the blood circulation will be blocked. So avoid the oily food from your food items. Main reason for the heart deceases are cholesterol, smoking, blood pressure, and increase of sugar level in the body etc. Select low-fat protein sources such as poultry and fish, egg whites and egg substitutes, low-fat dairy products and lean meat. Whole grains are fine sources of fiber and other nutrients. In addition, try to reduce salt in your food. Choose high-fiber cereals for breakfast, such as bran flakes, oats, or shredded wheat, instead of sugar-sweetened cereals, muffins or doughnuts.

Healthy eating methods can protect your heart from deceases. To keep off the increase of cholesterol in the body you must avoid the food items like egg, butter, meat, milk products etc. But in chicken and fish the cholesterol content is very low so you can include chicken and fish in the food. As vegetables and fruits are fine sources of minerals and vitamins, eat them more. Vegetables contain less protein and which will keep your heart strong. For this reason, you have to include more vegetable items in your food.

When cooking or baking avoid butter, lard, bacon, gravy, cream sauce, nondairy creamers, hydrogenated margarine and shortening, cocoa butter found in chocolate, coconut, palm and palm-kernel oils. You can choose monounsaturated fats, such as canola oil or olive oil. Polyunsaturated fats found in seeds and nuts are also good choices for a heart-healthy diet. If you want to add some oil items in your food then you ca make use of olive oil. All the vegetable oils are safe for cooking.
